π‘️ Why Allah Couldn’t Protect His Own Book
The Qur’an Claims Divine Preservation — But History Proves Otherwise
π§ Introduction: A Promise Islam Can’t Deliver On
The central claim of Islam is clear:
❝ Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an, and indeed, We will be its guardian. ❞
— Surah 15:9
Muslims repeat it endlessly:
-
“The Qur’an has never changed.”
-
“Not a dot has been altered.”
-
“Allah protects his word.”
But history — even Islamic history — shows a different story:
Verses were lost,
Chapters were erased,
Pages were burned,
Readings were abandoned,
And entire codices were rejected.
That’s not preservation.
That’s textual failure.
π₯ What Preservation Should Look Like
If Allah truly preserved the Qur’an:
-
Every verse would still exist.
-
Every surah would match the original reciters’.
-
No variants, no abrogations, no missing content.
But what do we see?
𧨠The Evidence Allah Failed to Protect the Qur’an
π 1. The Stoning Verse
“Stone the adulterers to death” — remembered by Umar, practiced in law, but not found in the Qur’an today.
Why wasn’t it preserved?
π 2. The Goat-Eaten Verse
Aisha said a verse about breastfeeding adults was lost when: “a goat came in and ate it.”
— Sunan Ibn Majah 1944
Was the goat more powerful than Allah’s preservation?
π 3. The Missing Mushafs
-
Ibn Mas’ud’s Qur’an — rejected 3 surahs still in use today.
-
Ubayy ibn Ka’b’s Qur’an — contained two extra surahs.
-
Both disagreed with Uthman’s version — and both were erased.
Why did Allah allow entire codices to be burned?
π 4. The Seven Ahruf
The Qur’an was revealed in 7 modes… but today’s Qur’an only reflects one.
Where are the other six?
Why didn’t Allah protect all of them — if they were truly revealed?
π§― 5. The Uthmanic Purge
Uthman burned every other Qur’an, standardizing a version compiled by committee, not the Prophet.
If Allah was protecting the text:
-
Why were there multiple conflicting versions in the first place?
-
Why was fire needed to unify it?
π§ Let’s Break It Down Logically
πΉ Premise 1:
Surah 15:9 claims Allah will preserve the Qur’an.
πΉ Premise 2:
Islamic history shows:
-
Lost verses,
-
Missing chapters,
-
Eaten pages,
-
Disputed content,
-
Burned manuscripts.
✅ Conclusion:
Allah did not preserve the Qur’an.
Therefore, Surah 15:9 is a false promise.
And a god who breaks his word… is not God at all.
π Muslim Rebuttals — and Why They Fail
❌ “Those verses were abrogated, not lost.”
Then why did Umar and others say the stoning verse was part of the Qur’an after Muhammad’s death?
❌ “Allah preserved the meanings, not the text.”
That’s a cop-out. Surah 15:9 promises the actual Qur’an, not vague interpretations.
❌ “We still have the Qur’an today, unchanged.”
Then explain:
-
The missing verses,
-
The burned mushafs,
-
The multiple Qira’at,
-
The contradicting codices.
π What This Really Means
The Qur’an cannot be preserved
— because it was never stable to begin with.
It evolved, fragmented, got burned, rewritten, and politically enforced.
That’s not divine protection.
That’s damage control masquerading as doctrine.
π¬ Mic-Drop Closer
“If Allah promised to protect the Qur’an,
But verses were lost, surahs were erased, and pages were eaten by goats…Then either Allah broke his promise —
Or he never made it.Either way —
The Qur’an is not from God.”
